About Me

My name is Simon Mutua Mumbura, a Kenyan by Nationality and a Christian by Religion. Born in the Central highlands of Kenya, I attended my primarily education in home area. I later joined a Secondary school and sat my o-levels examination and obtained a 2nd strong division but I couldn't join a high school due to financial constraints in my family.
Luckily, I joined a fish farm company where I secured a job as a fish attendant. After working for a while in the fish farm, I started training and pursued a course in aquaculture, where after two years I was able to obtain a diploma in aquaculture through correspondence.
After a few years in this industry I decided to change my profession and joined the Tourism industry in the year 1992 as a tour guide since then I have worked with various tour companies as a guide and tour manager. I have done a lot in all areas of the tourism fraternity both in Kenya and East Africa for the past over 15 years.
I have learnt a lot and taught a lot in this industry as I work with various tourists from all parks of the world year after year.
I am now running Active Adventures as a tour operator which I wholly managed as freelance guide in Kenya. I came up with this idea after a long time experience learning how badly the exploitation was to the tour guides.
An active adventure is able to organize and participate in well tailored excursions both in Kenya and East Africa. We always ensure our services will at all times suite clients needs, and expectations in East Africa
Try Active Adventures, coz they are really (active adventure)
